LearnZillion Illustrative Mathematics
LearnZillion Illustrative Mathematics (IM) is a high-quality, problem-based core mathematics curriculum that sparks discussion and enjoyment of mathematics. As the first IM-Certified curriculum, LearnZillion Illustrative Mathematics for grades 6–12 follows IM’s philosophy, sequence, and pedagogy. Driven by student discourse and built around focus, coherence, and rigor — it equips students with the skills they need to thrive in mathematics.
With this curriculum, students learn by doing math. They solve problems in mathematical and real-world contexts and construct arguments using precise language. Teachers use high-leverage routines to guide learners to understand and make connections between concepts and procedures, and spark discussion, perseverance, and understanding of mathematics.
This curriculum is powered by the LearnZillion platform, which puts everything teachers need to deliver impactful instruction in one place. Teachers can use the classroom- and distance learning–ready lesson plans, formative and summative assessments, and easy-to-read data to inform instruction, and a detailed help center and professional development for the platform and curriculum offer additional support.
In 2020, IM’s resources for distance and unfinished learning were incorporated into the LearnZillion platform. These resources help teachers utilize lessons for synchronous and asynchronous instruction as well as for group and individual instruction. Additionally, LearnZillion IM offers guidance to help teachers use synchronous time strategically and adjust pacing expectations.
