Fun Animal Friday: Owls & Bats
Fly through the night with Pacific Animal Productions to learn about some of their flying friends LIVE on Facebook! Meet Gizmo the Barn Owl and Peanut Butter & Jelly the Egyptian Fruit Bats! Get your questions ready, Pacific Animal Productions will be answering them during this interactive event. This Fun Animal Friday will take place July 31 at 10 a.m. on the Museum’s Facebook page. Be sure to follow (San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum) to be notified when they go live. Fri. 10 a.m.

Digital Escape Room: Finding the Sorcerer’s Stone
After you get accepted into Hogwarts, you’ll figure out how to get past the magical wall to go shopping in Diagon Alley. You’ll use logic and reasoning skills to travel to Platform 9 3/4 to get to Hogwarts. Learning Goals: The program is designed to promote socialization and teamwork while improving deductive reasoning, logic and basic math skills. I’ll be there to inspire the teams and to give directions and help them through solving the puzzles on their own. The Harry Potter theme makes the program super-fun so the kids hardly realize just how much they are learning. This is an online class, we will send you a link to access the class 30 minutes prior to the start of the program. Fri. 1-2 p.m.

Ride On!
The annual Gigantic Bike Festival/PNW celebration of the bicycle is going online for 2020. Activities will span the month of August and will include livestreams from local bands, weekly bike challenges, the 2020 jersey and plenty of swag. Get registration details and line-up information online and then get rolling.

Hike San Diego for Prizes
In honor of National Parks and Recreation Month, San Diego is launching its first-ever Tour Our Trails Challenge. Comprised of 15 hikes, this progressive hiking challenge starts with five easy hikes, followed by five moderate hikes and five that are considered tough. Prizes will be awarded in every category: commemorative stickers, reusable water bottles, canvas bags and a fabric-stitched patch.

Royalty Training
Award winning LoveBug & Me Music’s Royalty Training Classes Are Back! The Frozen Princess leads your child through a special class full of royal singing, dancing and acting. Your friend LoveBug makes an appearance in every class and maybe even another famous princess or two will be sighted. Sat. 10:30 & 11:30 a.m.

Join Chicago’s Lollapalooza Virtually
Lollapalooza is a staple of Chicago’s music festival scene. The fest will honor the beloved summer tradition by bringing Chicago, and the world, live music via a live stream.  The weekend-long virtual event will include performances from around the city and archived, never-before-seen footage from Lollapalooza in Chicago and around the world.

Dessert Goals Festival
Traditionally hosted in New York & LA, this family-friendly digital event will bring people together nationwide to experience Dessert Goals in a whole new way. Two days of exciting original content, both live and pre-recorded, available to stream for a week after the event including virtual panels, baking demos with celebrated chefs, a birthday celebration, an energizing morning workout class, family-friendly activities, a keynote speech, and much more. San Diego Summer Movies at Home
San Diego has revamped their Summer Movies event so you can safely enjoy movies at home. This program includes interactive activity kits, themed activities, arts and crafts, and recipes to try out. Movies can be rented or streamed through various platforms and viewed on your TV, tablet, or phone. This weekend’s movie is: Detective Pikachu. Sat.
